  • We have four physical locations where we provide our professional counseling services to the community. In addition to in-person visits, we also offer convenient online therapy for residents living in Ohio and Michigan. To find out which specific address your clinician operates from, please take a moment to check their individual clinician’s page for detailed information. The locations are listed below:

    • 3454 Oak Alley Court Suite 209, Toledo, OH 43606

    • 3454 Oak Alley Court Suite 505, Toledo, OH 43606

  • During the intake process, you will be asked if you have a preference for receiving reminder notifications and video link notifications via text message or email. Once we have confirmed your preference, you will be sent a link for the video appointment directly to your chosen device(s).

When our scheduled appointment time arrives, you will simply click on the link provided or you can also open it through the Telehealth by SimplePractice app, which you can conveniently download for free from the app store. You will be able to utilize the camera and audio features on either your computer or mobile device to facilitate our session.

Should you encounter any difficulties or have any questions regarding accessing the platform, please do not hesitate to reach out to your clinician for assistance.

  • Most of our clinicians provide the option of both in-person sessions and online sessions to accommodate varying preferences.

For your preferred clinician, we encourage you to carefully check their bio page specifically to find detailed information regarding whether they offer in-person sessions or solely online ones.

  • Wildwood Counseling Services charges $200 for a comprehensive diagnostic assessment, and $140 for each ongoing psychotherapy session lasting 53 minutes.

The amount you will owe per session is determined by your insurance plan’s contracted rate, along with your specific benefits, which we carefully review with you.

Additionally, we understand that financial situations can vary, so we offer a sliding fee scale for clients who require self-pay options but may find it challenging to afford the full rate we typically charge.

  • The first appointment you have with your therapist is an important assessment session in which the therapist gathers comprehensive information about your biopsychosocial history. This involves asking detailed questions about the psychology of your personal patterns, your past and present health and illness history, and a thorough evaluation of your social factors and support systems.

During this time, your therapist will also initiate a discussion about the specific goals that you would like to achieve with their assistance and guidance. Overall, this essential session typically lasts around 53 minutes, providing a thoughtful introduction to your therapeutic journey.

  • The answer to how long you should be in therapy is a complex and nuanced one that depends on a variety of factors, such as the specific type of therapy you are engaging in, the particular mental health conditions for which you are seeking treatment, as well as your own personal preferences and circumstances.

In other words, there is no universally correct duration for therapy, and it can vary quite significantly from one individual to another.

As much as I would like to provide you with a clearer and more definitive answer to your question, I would strongly encourage you to discuss this matter further with your clinician, as they can provide you with a more personalized response based on your unique situation and needs.

  • People have many different motivations for coming to psychotherapy. Some individuals may be navigating a major life transition, such as unemployment, divorce, or starting a new job, while others are experiencing an array of abnormally stressful circumstances that feel overwhelming.

Additionally, some people find that they need assistance in managing a wide range of issues, including low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, addictions, relationship problems, spiritual conflicts, and creative blocks that hinder their progress. Therapy can provide essential encouragement and equip individuals with valuable skills to help them effectively navigate through these challenging periods. Moreover, others may reach a point in their lives where they are eager to learn more about themselves or want to become more effective in achieving their personal goals.

In short, individuals who seek psychotherapy are often prepared to confront the various challenges present in their lives and are committed to making meaningful changes for a better future.

  • We understand how crucial the therapeutic relationship is to your overall experience, and that is why we strive to provide you with the best possible fit!

Before we proceed to schedule your appointment, we take the initial information you have provided us and carefully match you with clinicians who have specific experience in the areas you’re hoping to explore further. If, upon meeting your therapist, you feel that it is not a good fit, you are not obligated to continue with that therapist. It is not only encouraged, but also beneficial, to openly communicate with your therapist about your reasons for feeling this way.

Together, you can either create a plan for transitioning to a different clinician or work through any misunderstandings that may have arisen. Therapy marks the beginning of a professional relationship, and as with any relationship, it often takes effort and time to cultivate. It can feel somewhat awkward at first, but once again, with clear communication, it is entirely possible to establish a powerful dynamic that can guide you towards your personal goals. If, after some time, you believe that progress is not being made, do not hesitate to reach out to our office manager; she is here to assist you in finding a better match that may suit your needs more effectively!

  • Confidentiality is one of the most crucial components in the relationship between a client and their clinician. Successful therapy relies on a high level of trust, as it often involves discussing highly sensitive subject matter that is typically not shared outside the therapist's office. During the intake process, you will receive a copy of our confidential disclosure agreement, ensuring that the information you discuss in your sessions will remain private and not be shared with anyone without your consent. This is known as "Informed Consent."

However, there are some exceptions to this rule. State law and professional ethics may require therapists to break confidentiality in certain situations, such as suspected past or present abuse or neglect of children, adults, disabled adults, and elders, which must be reported to the authorities, including Child Protection and law enforcement.

Additionally, therapists may be required to report domestic abuse that children are being exposed to, or if they have reason to believe the client is seriously in danger of harming themselves or others. In these cases, the therapist may be obligated to share information, even without the client's written permission.

Conversely, there may be instances where you, as the client, may want your therapist to share information or provide an update to someone on your healthcare team. In such cases, your therapist will need to obtain your written permission, known as a Release of Information (ROI), before they can release any information.

If you have any further questions regarding confidentiality or the exceptions to it, please do not hesitate to ask your clinician or contact our office manager.
